For those who think Spirit in the Light is a bit pricey…read on

I discovered on Reddit a discussion of my book. One person expressed hesitation about the price and was unsure it would be worth it. Allow me to explain: Spirit in the Light is not trade-book printing but a hardcover art book. I had the negatives drum-scanned by Mark Doyle who did Eric Meola’s Born to Run cover shot photos. I also used a design team to create an elegant look. Finally, I found an excellent printer–Puritan in New Hampshire, who did duotone printing on offset print presses. Because of this, when you get the book you will notice that the prints sing in a way that very few published photos do. I could have cut my cost in half by not investing in the best quality, but knowing how hard Springsteen works to get things right (See Deliver Me From Nowhere), I felt compelled to try to live up to that standard.

Those who have bought the book have raved about the sharpness of the images and the intimate look at Springsteen’s dramatic performances. If you order the book and are not satisfied with the image quality, I will be happy to have you send it back for a refund.
